My Cat Is Really Smart

I've always suspected he was pretty smart and was pleasantly surprised when I found that, with just a small catnip bribe, I could get him to do research for me!

recent Ph.D. started graduate school as an idealist with lofty goals for research and teaching. She has since become a pragmatist, no longer believing — given the bleak job market and the structural problems with higher education causing it — that she could have a future in the academy. "All the world's a stage," said the Bard, but recent Ph.D. doesn't know what role she is to play in the next act. Her posts reflect her adventures trying to figure it out.
